corrections
My name is Darlene Branconnier, and I am the mother of Nicholas Perry. Although there is some incorrect information in the article of my son's cousin coming home from iraq to be here for his funeral, I do want to thank this blog for honoring Nicholas by telling a little about him, and his close cousins. We cannot express the grief and loss we are still feeling 7 weeks after the accident, but the thoughts and prayers from everyone are greatly appreciated.

I feel your pain...
I’m sorry I did not get it right. I saw the need to let the readers know of Nicholas tragic death and at the same time not bother you or anybody else within your extended family during the worst moments of your lives just to get it right.
I remember when my mother lost one of her daughters and I one of my sisters back in 1985. She was not as young as your son Nicholas, she was 36 but still too young to die. It was most difficult and painful for my mother.
It took years to grieve her loss. There is really nothing anybody can do. Over time, the memories will replace the void and ease the pain. I wish I would have had the chance to meet him…

My Irish Twin
Hi Darlene. As Peter said there is only one way to know your pain and i can not imagine the pain of losing any of my Children. My Brother who was about a year older than me and my lifemate was killed suddenly when the motorcycle he was riding hit a moose just out side of Alaska during the summer solstice of 02.

As painful as it was for me it looked to be 200 fold for my Mom. Anyone who has to bury a child shares a personal pain so deep that one can only hope to never know the associated grief.

So although I do not know your pain I certainly know that your child will reach out to you in your dreams. Embrace him when he comes and he will let you know he is in a better place.

My Mom's name is Barbara and her # is 508 612 3938. She is also living your pain and she would certainly be happy to talk if you reach out to her. Tell her I said to call. I wish your entire family strength.

Jim
